About
Us
In
1952, Seth Euliss and his wife, Lib, founded Euliss Oil Company in
Liberty, NC. Seth was a WWII veteran and four-year POW who grew up
in Liberty and was a local war hero. He and Lib raised four children
and worked hard in a local hosiery mill, Liberty Hosiery. Seth began
his small oil business with one kerosene/fuel oil truck and a tiny
office. Seth set out to provide an alternative to electric heat in
rural areas while he continued to work the third shift in the mill.
In 1975, Seth and Lib decided to retire. They sold their company to John Kester
Stanley, Jr., a local banking officer and Kinston, NC native. John and his
wife Louise Hunt Stanley, a public school teacher at Liberty School, were raising
two young sons.
Over time, propane became the cleaner alternative to fuel oil heat. Throughout
the 1980's, propane developed into the energy source of choice for Euliss Oil
Company's customers and the business' name was changed to Euliss Propane Company
to signal its new direction. Euliss Propane's customer base has grown to encompass
four counties in North Carolina including Alamance, Chatham, Guilford and Randolph.
Euliss Propane Company continues to strive to be the number one energy provider
in central North Carolina and to live up to the honor of the Euliss family
name. |
